What are the advantages of a Cloud Based EPOS System?

Cloud based EPOS solutions have been around for a while now, but only since the introduction of broadband with greater speed and routers offering a mobile 4G backup internet, have their reliability increased that they now become a worthy player when looking for an EPOS system.

Other advantages over traditional EPOS systems is the simplicity to install them. They often require just to be plugged in or charged and turned on. Simply inserting a code is enough then to get you started, as the setting up of the menu and system will have been done in advance by our dedicated installation team. Most cloud systems are ordered, installed and setup within 10 days, including the supply and delivery of the card payment device.

Traditional EPOS systems also only work normally on Windows. Cloud EPOS systems are much less demanding on the hardware & software and are often designed to run on Android devices, from full sized Android based terminals, to small Android tablets, making an EPOS system not only flexible, but mobile too. This makes it more affordable to, with many new and existing small businesses opting for a Cloud bases EPOS over Traditional EPOS.

As mentioned above, the forerunners of Cloud EPOS solutions, demanded a strong and solid internet connection, which is fine normally in cities, but not so good if you’re in a rural area, often affected local outages.

There are also additional benefits to using a Cloud based EPOS system. If you are using a loyalty or CRM system, then getting the data from a traditional system into a useable format can often be difficult. Cloud systems allow you to access your data via a webportal and allow you to export the data in a usable format. Furthermore if a problem arises from a hardware failure, there is no loss of data from the terminal as all the data is stored on the cloud.
